Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
The OECD brings together 38 of the world's most economically developed countries, which shape global standards and principles in economic and development policies. The OECD's committees and working bodies, totaling more than 250, are the substantive bearers of the review of individual areas of OECD activity.
The Competition Committee is one of the most important OECD committees. The Committee's primary objective is to protect and promote competition as one of the key principles in the modern economic environment, which stems from the fact that strong market competition accelerates economic growth and employment and ensures a flexible and innovative market economy.
In its field of expertise, the Agency participates in the OECD Competition Committee and in two working groups of this Committee, where representatives of member states regularly exchange experiences at an expert level, review and assess progress in individual areas and in individual countries.
Participation in the Competition Committee and working groups provides insight into the legislation and implementation of competition law in other countries and thus the opportunity to transfer good solutions to the national system. One of the obligations of OECD member states is also the preparation of an annual report on competition activities and policy.
Annual reports of individual countries are available here.
